At El Dorado School of Performing Arts, we believe every dancer deserves the opportunity to dance, grow, and find their light. We know that every family’s circumstances are different, and we never want financial barriers to prevent a dancer from experiencing the confidence, creativity, friendships, and lifelong lessons that dance provides. The EDSPA Dancer Scholarship Program was created to provide support for dancers who need assistance with dance-related expenses while also recognizing dancers who demonstrate exceptional growth, creativity, dedication, and passion for the art of dance. Through this program, we are committed to creating opportunities where every dancer can continue learning, creating, and shining.

The EDSPA Dancer Scholarship Fund exists because of the generosity of our community. Every donation, no matter the size, helps remove barriers and creates opportunities for dancers to continue pursuing their passion. Your support helps provide dancers with essential resources such as tuition assistance, recital costumes, dance shoes, and other dance-related necessities. A single donation can make a meaningful difference in a dancer’s journey.

$50 — Helps cover one month of a dancer’s tuition

$75 — Helps provide a recital costume

$100 — Helps provide dance essentials such as shoes, leotards, tights, and other required dancewear

Keep Dancing Scholarship - Tuition Assistance

The Keep Dancing Scholarship provides financial assistance toward dance tuition for dancers whose families may need additional support continuing their dance education. We believe that a dancer’s journey should not have to end because of financial circumstances. This scholarship helps dancers remain connected to their classes, instructors, and dance community while continuing to build confidence, friendships, and skills throughout the season.

Shine On Scholarship - Recital Costume Assistance

The Shine On Scholarship provides assistance with recital costume expenses, allowing dancers to fully participate in one of the most exciting moments of their dance journey — performing on stage. Every dancer deserves the opportunity to experience the confidence and excitement that comes from stepping into the spotlight. This scholarship helps ensure dancers have the costume they need to celebrate their hard work and share their passion with family and friends.

The Foundations Scholarship - Dance Essentials

The Foundation Scholarship provides assistance with essential dance items such as shoes, leotards, tights, and other required dancewear. Having the proper dance attire and footwear allows dancers to participate safely, confidently, and successfully in their classes. This scholarship helps ensure that dancers have the tools they need to build a strong foundation and continue growing throughout their dance journey.

Find Your Light Scholarship - General Dance Assistance

The Find Your Light Scholarship provides flexible assistance for dancers with unique or multiple financial needs related to their dance education. This scholarship is designed to meet dancers where they are and provide support where it can make the greatest impact. Whether assistance is needed for tuition, costumes, shoes, or other approved dance expenses, this scholarship helps dancers continue pursuing their passion.

Dancer Recognition Scholarships

Heart of the Dancer Scholarship - Character & Leadership

The Heart of the Dancer Scholarship recognizes dancers who demonstrate kindness, respect, teamwork, encouragement, and positivity within the EDSPA community. Dance is about more than movement. This scholarship celebrates dancers who make the studio a better place by supporting their classmates, showing compassion, and representing the values of EDSPA both inside and outside of the classroom.

Beyond The Barre Scholarship - Studio Impact

The Beyond the Barre Scholarship honors dancers who make an impact beyond the classroom. Recipients demonstrate leadership, dedication, and a willingness to support their studio community. Whether helping younger dancers, encouraging classmates, participating in studio events, or serving as a positive role model, these dancers represent what it means to be part of the EDSPA family.

The Legacy Scholarship - Senior Impact

The Legacy Scholarship is awarded to an EDSPA dancer entering their senior year who has demonstrated dedication, leadership, and a meaningful impact on the EDSPA community. This scholarship honors dancers who have grown throughout their journey and are ready to step into a leadership role by inspiring, encouraging, and mentoring younger dancers. Recipients represent the values of EDSPA and leave a lasting impression on those around them.

EDSPA Spirit Scholarship - Studio Culture

Awarded to a dancer who embodies the heart and spirit of EDSPA through kindness, positivity, encouragement, and support of others. This dancer helps create a welcoming environment and makes the studio feel like a family.

* Recognition scholarships are not based solely on technical ability. EDSPA celebrates dancers who demonstrate growth, dedication, creativity, leadership, passion, and positive contributions to our studio community.

Eligibility Requirements:

Scholarships are available to currently enrolled EDSPA dancers unless otherwise specified.
Applicants must meet the age requirements listed for specific scholarships.
Financial assistance scholarships require a completed scholarship application.
Recognition scholarships may be awarded through staff nominations, evaluations, or other selection processes.
Scholarship recipients must demonstrate a commitment to their dance education and participation at EDSPA.

Application Process:

Families requesting financial assistance must complete the EDSPA Dancer Scholarship Application.
Applications are reviewed privately and respectfully by the EDSPA Scholarship Committee.
Families are encouraged to provide honest information about their needs so EDSPA can determine the best way to provide support.
Submitting an application does not guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded.
Scholarship decisions are based on available funds, dancer needs, and the requirements of each scholarship opportunity.

Scholarship Expectations

Scholarship recipients are expected to:

Attend classes regularly and arrive prepared to learn.
Demonstrate respect for instructors, classmates, and the EDSPA community.
Continue showing dedication, effort, and a positive attitude.
Communicate with EDSPA staff regarding any challenges that may affect participation.

Because scholarship funds are provided to support active dancers in their dance education, recipients who choose to withdraw from EDSPA during the season will no longer have access to any remaining scholarship funds. Any unused scholarship funds will be returned to the EDSPA Dancer Scholarship Fund and may be awarded to another dancer in need of support.

By accepting a scholarship, families acknowledge that these funds are intended to support continued participation and access to dance opportunities throughout the season.

EDSPA understands that requesting assistance can be a personal decision. Scholarship applications and family information will be handled with care, confidentiality, and respect. Our goal is to support dancers and families while maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.
